Treatment Concepts

Healing after dental procedures is not only about closing a wound. As we have seen, healing inside the jaw is a complex biological process that does not always fully restore the original structure. Modern dentistry should move beyond simply observing healing. Instead, the goal is to support and guide the body during this process.

How Healing Can Be Guided

One important approach is Guided Open Wound Healing (GOWH®). Instead of closing the wound immediately, this method allows the body to heal in a controlled and supported way. This can help to create better conditions for natural regeneration.
Building on this concept, Professor Ghanaati has developed the ARENA-Protocol®. It is a structured treatment concept that looks at healing more holistically, considering not only the local area, but also the overall condition of the body.
For patients, this means a more individualized treatment, careful planning before and after procedures and support for the body's natural healing processes.

These concepts are based on clinical experience, ongoing research, and continuous development in regenerative dentistry.
